Frequency Years Ago In the Future

I love, love, love this episode!
It is a micro short episode but it plays right into my sense of timing with regard to story telling.

S2 EP 07 "Years Ago, In the Future" picks up with Claire calling for Travis and Deanna confessing a secret.

Editing this was fun. It has been almost a years since we shot this episode.
Watching the footage was a sobering reminder, again, that 2014 is WAY better.

Frequency and 8 of 8

The final treatment has been administered. I am free of the drip until otherwise notified. My I say, heaven forbid I have to go through this again.

Let me also say, I understand the folks who refuse chemo. It is mentally and physically grueling. It takes inner and physical strength of extraordinary measure. If you do not have the spirit, then you cannot endure.

Friends and family are essential in the journey. The buoy that friends and family give is a true treasure to the soul. I cannot express how grateful I am for all the well wishes and the encouragement along the way. It helped me keep fighting. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

I have to mention again, that blog readers here should have checked for lumps four times since I lost two of my lady bits. Yes, self exams should happen every month.  Do it. Do it now. Today.

Frequency in March-ness

So far this month:

I have been annoyed with our local groundhog, Sir Walter Raleigh.

It has been less than 50 degrees all month. I did not sign up for a cold winter!

In like a lamb is always my expectation for March Madness.

Next my college team peaked to soon. Like, three months too soon. For so many years now, I say, "There is always next year."




I spent two weeks convalescing at home. I am not the kind of gal that sits for too long. The office was calling me.
Although I have been to the office a few days a week, I am getting nothing done.

We did have two big Frequency shoots- The Pinhook and the loft apartment.

Episode 3 is still getting polished and fine tuned for posting. It will be a little later than expected.

And finally, we had Holy Smoke happen just in time for Easter.

All this to say, I'm late ! Or rather I will be late in posting Episode 3

Frequency the Most Lesbian SciFi in the world

Frequency has been in production since April of 2012. We are putting together a fun lesbian character that has some friends that have tuned into special abilities. 

Dr. Deanna Shelley is the lesbian dentist in the middle of some weird happenings. Join her as she sorts out which timeline and what reality she belongs in. 

Claire DuMairier is the pansexual philanthropist looking to right some wrongs in the world. Her journey seems to be guided by a mysterious technology that has a special hold on her life.  Claire is trying to sort out her role in Deanna's reality.

Claire has been seen in the Pinhook throwing back a drink or two. 

I'll let you in on a secret. It's comes in a tall blue bottle. It is some of Mexico's finest Tequila. Sipping is the preferred way to consume the beverage. Claire has other things in mind when she hits the Pinhook.

Emergency Frequency

Frequency Episode 2 "Just Friends" has some fun stuff and reveals the characters' connections.

We had fun shooting episode 2. It took us to the Pinhook and Cincinnati?

Travis & Claire getting friendly?

Deanna & Travis just friends?

What does Deanna do with this emergency? 

A. Sends the patient away and goes to lunch with the staff
B. Takes the patient's number & makes an appointment in the future
C. Takes care of the emergency right away

Silent Frequency

The farther along in the script we get the more layers we see unfold.

Today I got to read some of the up coming episodes. It was full of future/ past timeline elements. 

It was very fun to read.

It maybe a tall order for VIZ effects and I'm up for the challenge.

All I can say is that I have to be silent about the details of the story. 

I can say I laughed out loud. I can also say I cannot wait to get this in front of an audience.

Double the Frequency

Phase reversing is not my intention.
I am trying to pull an optical illusion.

By the Magic of television we now have two where there where one, episodes that is.
We are not pitch shifting sound or shifting light we just split it the one into parts.

We will have EP 01.1 & EP 01.2
On OUR NEW Youtube Channel = KVWorks1

There are a few very small tweaked but nothing of major proportion.

We wanted the Youtube experience to fit the length of the short attention span audience.

SIPPING SCI FI?

I want to sip and savor my sci fi in large blocks.



But YouTube is a wild west of viewing and we want to keep from being a ghost town of a channel.
SOOOO, we cut the episode into two nearly equal parts.













Episode 02 is aging in the big barrel in the warehouse. We will serve no SCI FI before it's time.


ETA is two weeks.
We will drop Frequency EP 02 before the NEW YEAR.

Speaking of 2013, I have listed a few things I'm looking forward to seeing.

Frequency head count

Writers truly do have the last word.

I have had many conversations with the writer about the current series's plot trajectory. I realized today that every character at some point has been killed off and then written back into the plot before the next production day. This amuses me.

Vexing the writer is not good.

Like the birth of Athena, Piper is concentrating on characters.

Today, the head count is still two leads and two main supporting characters as well as two reoccurring characters.





Stay tuned the head count may change depending on the writers mood and whim.

Frequency Inspiration

So the edit is oh so close.

I have a few hours left in NOVEMBER before it all melts into a new month.
Believe me I am crunching pixels as hard as I can to get this episode out the door.

I have to say there where a few plasces that the audio sweetening changed the feel of the scene. Amazing.

Frequency House Band

We also had the Frequency team throw together a band for a fun mash-up. I think this will happen a few more time for a few episode in the future.

Frequency Carrboro film festival

This Sunday team Frequency will be in Carrboro, Paris of the piedmont and first town in NC with an openly gay Mayor.   (FYI- Mayor Mike Nelson has since moved on to do other things.)

Mike, way back when he was Mayor.

Intersect Ep 4 of Frequency will screen at the Carrboro Film Festival. It is the dedicated to local filmmakers making short films.
